A Photography Project
PHOTO CHALLENGE |
One Subject, Ten Ways
We’re taking a timeless and simple art project and turning it into a month long exercise to challenge ourselves in new and different ways.
Step 1 | Choose an Object
Choose a simple object to photograph, it can be anything.
Step 2 | Take Ten Photos
You’ll take 10 completely different photos of your object. You can change the state of the object (taking a tomato, for example, then cooking said tomato). Be mindful of composition, light, and other elements that can tie one image to the other like we did in our ‘series’ prompt recently.
Step 3 | Add Additional Elements
Aside from using the same object, there are no limitations to what and how you shoot. You can completely change the scene, background, and add or take away as much as you’d like to add variety and create interest.
REQUIREMENTS
The subject should clearly be the main focus in each image, but can be layered or positioned in any way you’d like. Include a variety of image types. Use supporting props, but use them sparingly so as not to detract from the main object or create distraction.
Think about different shot types and the effect they have on your subject. Appreciate the variety of options available for storytelling using images and allow that to fuel your creativity.
