November's Photography Guide

Move over October, November is here and it’s one of my favorite times of year! By this time, Autumn has fully set in and the cozy is here to stay awhile. If you haven’t been enjoying family time with October’s festivities, November is bound to bring you together. Thanksgiving is soon to follow, a most beloved holiday! It’s the one time of year all of our friends get together for a long standing tradition of Friendsgiving, then a small family Thanksgiving dinner shortly after. I love it all so much. I cook with my family, share the table with many that I love, occasionally we’ll travel to see extended family, and after the years of staying home, I won’t miss a moment again, and you bet I’m capturing it all on camera!

While having someone with a camera out all the time can be annoying and even take away from the moment, I have a few guidelines to follow that help you capture the story while remaining present. This month’s photography guide will give you:

  • an intimate look at how I capture my family moments

  • how everyone has gotten comfortable with my camera

  • a shot list

  • how to tell the story of togetherness

  • how to remain present while behind the camera

The email that is full of inspiration and information is sent out the first week of November (same for each month and project). If you have any questions, you can always email me at talesofloveandadventure@gmail.com. You can sign up directly here.

These photos below might not represent much to you, but to me, they are how my family spent a holiday afternoon. The weather was uncommonly beautiful and we headed outdoors to enjoy it. These sweet simple moments were everything and take me right back to that time and place. That’s exactly what photography is supposed to do. For outside viewers, you get a glimpse of the surroundings, people, and details. You are briefly with me as I stop to capture those moments and the happiness of that time with family.
