Online Presence + Portfolio

PHOTO CHALLENGE |

Getting your online presence updated is the most important way to showcase your portfolio of images. You’re judged based on your online presence.

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

  • Viewers (clients, companies, partnerships) will go to their preferred social media to look you up. Based on those first 9 photos (on Instagram) will make a snap judgement of your work.

  • Decide, commit, to what you want to be known for. Stick to your strengths as you’re developing your portfolio.

  • You can always cycle through different themes if you want to explore more options, but a specific theme will build trust, consistency, and cohesive.

  • Deliver consistent content will balance your work and give a distinct message about what kind of photographer you are.

  • Challenge yourself by deciding on a theme for your work, give yourself assignments to fit that theme or design.

  • Avoid mixing and matching that ruins your style and aesthetic.

  • Get viewers excited by putting in the work to keep them there to enjoy your work.

  • Match your theme, content, colors.

  • Create a content plan: Decide on a selection of images you’ve taken to break up and add variety to your images, pair them together to curate your content, add a flow, show your skills, and intention.

    DIGITAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR WORK

  • Take advantage of updates:

    • Use various tools on social media to engage with your followers.

  • Go the extra mile to separate yourself from everyone else. Hard work pays off.

  • Use your skills to work better for the platforms and audience you’re marketing toward.
