Fishing, Getting Married, & Celebrating at Sunset
There’s truly nothing better than an elopement on the beach as the sun goes down over the Pacific Ocean…
Elopements have become so incredibly popular these days, and I’d say it’s for good reason! Going from an intense, expensive, stressful day to something fun, simple, and flexible is beyond appealing.
Meghan and Tyler set aside an entire day to enjoy being together in their favorite place, celebrating their love, getting married, and waiting for that perfect sunset.
It paid off too, because we were able to visit numerous locations, enjoy food they prepared, rest, and yes, even spend some time fishing! It was an amazing day all around.
While family was missed (there’s a reception to come later to include extended family), we made sure to have a good time, enjoy a truly no fuss ceremony, and focus on what mattered most to the couple. I like to think that parents will love to see their kids grown up and getting married in a way that feels so inherently like them, with such ease and happiness.
It was so fun to run through the surf, play with their pup, and bask in the golden glow of an early spring sunset.
Don’t let the beauty fool you, it was cold as can be, but worth every single second. Of all the elopements I’ve photographed over the years, there haven’t been any that have been difficult to plan, manage, to make feel special, celebratory, or lacking in beauty. It’s incredible to see the couple’s realisation that they are making a dream come true in a place more beautiful than they could imagine, without the burden of a strict timeline, the chaos of crowds, and taking that sigh of relief that this was the most worthwhile choice.
